  1. Oh My Goodness - that is amazingly beautiful!!! I felt but have not learned how to create such stunning texture. Do you teach, or offer tutorials? My biggest felting dream is to learn to make garments like yours and Vilte's. You rank right up there with her in terms of layers of texture and color. WOW! If the stars align correctly I will be with you at her workshop in Monterey. Hard to tell though - we had an unexpected financial setback that ate up the money I had saved for the class. I do think learning from you would be just as good. Beautiful work!

  2. I thank you so much for the encouragement! A class with Vilte last year put me on my feet and insired me greatly! I am a beginner though, and I still struggle mastering felting and finding my own expression. Felt is an amazing medium to work with, kind of sculptural - and I love the fast results. I don't think I will get tired of this as I did with so many other techniques I tried through the years, while seeking a way of expression. I thank you for your feed back. I started blogging hoping to reach people with the same interest, as I find great inspiration in other peoples work as well. Hope to see you in Monterey!

  3. I agree felt is an amazing medium to work with! If you think about it, anything can be made from felt. I am so in awe of the processes and the characteristics of this natural product.

I won't be making the class in Monterey - all of them are full. Maybe when you get back, if you feel up to it, you could put together a pdf tutorial combining photos and text, or DVD. I would be very happy to buy either with instructions on how you make your gorgeous jackets. I do see originality in your creations and thank you so much for sharing your photos here.

  4. I am sure there will be other opportunities to take a class with Irit and Vilte soon, I would just keep checking online frequently. I consider myself a beginner and do not feel comfortable teaching. Thank you for your encouragement though : )

    1. Vilte is going to be teaching in other countries for a while but I hope will be back in the US next year. If you ever feel inspired to take photos of your process let me know. You can be a beginner and still have enough knowledge that others can use. I know I could. Let me know if you ever decide to and I will happily compensate you for your time and information. For fun I just did one on my blog of the process of making a felt cloche on a hat block. It was a hoot and I like the way it turned out. Not only the hat but the blog posts.
